Carnations of Hope
The Perfect Mother's Day Gift

The carnation is a flowering plant that has been cultivated for over 2000 years. It is well known for both its beauty and long-lasting nature. Carnations were featured at the very first Mother’s Day observance in 1908 and are Canada's oldest and most recognized symbol of hope in the search for a cure for multiple sclerosis.

Your Carnation Questions Answered

How do I become involved?

Volunteer!  We are looking for volunteers to assist with mall sales during the second week of May, to lead a corporate campaign at your office and to volunteer by delivering carnations.

Buy carnations!  Visit one of our many mall sites during the second week of May to purchase carnations or phone the Atlantic Division office (1-800-268-7582 toll free) to find a campaign volunteer in your area.

How long has the Carnation Campaign been running?

The MS Carnation Campaign is a nation-wide fundraising initiative for the Multiple Sclerosis Society held just before Mother’s Day each year.  The Campaign has raised over $45 million nationally since 1976.

What is the money used for?

Money raised by this campaign helps us deliver on our mission - to be a leader in finding a cure for multiple sclerosis and enabling people affected by MS to enhance their quality of life – enabling us to provide education and services to individuals living with MS today, and to fund research to find a cure and end the devastating effects of MS tomorrow.
